OVERVIEW
Ridley College has an exciting opportunity for a Primary/Junior Teacher - LTO in our Lower School commencing September 2024.

Our teachers will:
organize the classroom and learning resources to create a dynamic learning environment for students
plan, prepare, and present lessons that motivate students, catering to the range of needs and abilities of the students
meet requirements for the evaluations of students development
provide feedback to advisors and parents on a students progress through regular progress reports, including daily communication when appropriate
are committed and assigned to participate in co-curricular activities including coaching a sports team, coordinating activities/clubs, leading community service initiatives, supporting students as an Advisor and will be a member of a house duty team
keep up to date with developments in the subject area, teaching resources and strategies and makes relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
engage, support, and collaborate with colleagues and work flexibly within the Department teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Education degree (Ontario or equivalent)
Ontario Teachers qualifications (or equivalent) to teach at the Primary/Junior level
Qualified to teach or experience teaching the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be an asset
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of two (2) years fulltime teaching, supply or occasional teaching experience at the Primary or Junior Level
Athletics coaching at the competitive or recreational level (e.g. rowing, basketball, rugby, hockey or other sport) is an asset
Experience in the creative Arts is an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills, exemplary communication skills, problem-solving, negotiation, and mediation skills
Experience with innovative teaching and learning
Independent/Boarding school experience preferred
Commitment to the Colleges academic and co-curricular directions and the schools vision and mission
