invites applications for the following position: Summer Mental Health Services and Support
Mental Health Clinician
July 2 - August 23, 2024 The Near North District School Board is looking for a contract Mental Health Clinician (up to 35 hours per week) to provide direct mental health services and supports to students throughout July and August. These services and supports will be offered virtually with the potential of in-person.
Hours of Work: The hours of work will be up to 35 hours per week, approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Hours may vary based on the needs and availability of students and parents/caregivers.
Rate of Pay: $48.00 per hour + 4% vacation pay and applicably statutory holiday pay.
Duties: Wellness check-ins
Brief individual and group interventions
Return to school transition support
Referral services
Parent/guardian consultation
Design and development of school-based mental health programs and communication materials for students and their families. The successful candidate will possess the following: A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Psychotherapy with registration as a Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) is required.
Experience in providing a variety of mental health services to children and youth.
Experience providing virtual care
Confidence and skills in using virtual platforms and providing virtual care.
Ability to support culturally relevant and responsive programming to a diverse group of students and parents.
Ability to work independently and take leadership in program development.
