Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a qualified Junior High teacher to fill a temporary full-time position at Provost Public School. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for students.
Position Details: Start Date: Immediate
End Date: October 29th, 2024, or the return of the regular teacher
Location: Provost Public School, Provost, Alberta
Subject Areas: Social Studies (Grades 6-9), Mathematics 9, and Science 6. The successful candidate will possess the following:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential
Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning
Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students
Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting
Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator
A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset
Experience in multi-graded classroom settings would be considered an asset.Provost Public School is a K-12 school with approximately 265 students. At PPS, we share a vision to create belonging, persevere and engage in active learning. We strive to create success for all students. In addition to academics we support learning of the whole child.
We offer band and music, foods, shop, and outdoor education.Our students enjoy athletics through volleyball,basketball, badminton, cross country running, track, golf and curling opportunities in junior and senior high.Provost has a population of approximately 1900 with an arena with fitness centre including an indoor walking track, outdoor swimming pool and splash park, multiple playgrounds, bowling, and outdoor community walking track. As well as multiple opportunities to become involved in community groups, such as dance, Tae Kwon Do, hockey, baseball, soccer and curling,the Kinsmen club and Girl Guides..
