Grade 12 diploma
Training and experience in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Control Theory, First Aid, and Security is an asset
Ability and experience working with students
A positive and flexible attitude
Able to do heavy work (exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects and assist students as needed)
A valid drivers license is an asset
Ability to use technology is an asset
Duties (may include but are not limited to): Work at the school, under the direction of the school-based administrators, to help provide for the care, welfare, safety and security of students and staff at the Comprehensive High School.
Supervise students in the classroom, lunch or rest area.
Engage only in activities in which they have training, experience or are qualified to do unless they are directed to do otherwise by an immediate supervisor.
Develop positive relationships with the students and model respectful behaviour towards them so that in the event of a crisis situation they are able to de-escalate the situation.
Discuss school problems and confidential matters only with the appropriate personnel.
Respect the dignity, privacy, and individuality of all students, parents, and staff members.

Pay range: $19.25 to $25.73 per hour based on experience
