Under the supervision of the Manager, Learning Commons, the Learning Commons Technician works collaboratively with the school team to assist and support students, teachers, and support staff with the learning commons resources available to the school. The Principal may provide direction to the Learning Commons Technician within the worksite(s) in conjunction with the Manager, Learning Commons. The Learning Commons Technician has a broad knowledge of all services and resources offered throughout the whole school learning commons including research, IT support, learning strategies, assistive technology and traditional hard copy publications.
This position requires a good understanding of digital services and software, with working knowledge of the use, support and application of these learning tools. The Learning Commons Technician works as a member of a team to support staff and students in accessing and utilizing a variety of materials, platforms and systems in effective and responsible ways to promote relevant and innovative student learning.
This position is covered under the UCDSB/CUPE collective agreement. Secondary school diploma and completion of two year community college Library and Information Technician Diploma is required.
Two years previous experience working in a library utilizing learning resources is an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The ability to attend work at multiple worksite locations is a requirement

Monday: Maxville Public School 8:30 - 4:00
Tuesday: Avonmore Elementary School 8:30 - 4:00
Wednesday: Bridgewood Public School 8:30 - 4:00
Thursday: Char-Lan District High School 7:30 - 3:00
