We invite applications for the position of: We invite applications for the position of Administrative Assistant, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday at Sandwick Continuing Education School. The current rate of pay is $30.32 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.Qualifications:
Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of an office administration program certificate; Typing speed of 50 wpm; Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; Minimum of two years of current clerical experience; experience in the use of relevant office equipment; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties are performed under the supervision of the Principal or designate; prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and other necessary promotional material using appropriate word processing equipment; maintains database and collects all program materials related to Career Education; update and manage the school's website and digital media platforms; assists with preparation and maintenance of student records including transcripts, either paper or digital and maintaining student enrollment data, as well as supporting all aspects of registration, attendance and other related entries for student entrance and exit; performs
telephone and reception duties; processes incoming and outgoing mail and other material; maintains inventory as required, identifies items and suppliers for purchasing; process and maintains purchase orders and work orders; provide clerical and organizational support for district events (e.g., Careers Week, Skills Canada); coordinate the scheduling and distribution of resource kits to schools; assists with other office duties as directed by the principal or designate; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; supports students in the office by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and by referring students to appropriate school staff in a timely manner; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Please note this position may include start-up/shut-down hours, which have yet to be determined.
Shut-down / Start-up hours are temporary hours which are worked during the summer break (from Canada Day to Labour Day) and cannot be carried over into the next school year.To Apply:
