Chinook School Division is seeking a Secretary to work 4.5 hours/day on student attendance days at Ecole Centennial School. The Secretary is a team member who, in cooperation with the Office Manager, is responsible to the Principal for ensuring that the school office functions in an efficient and effective manner. This position requires the performance of secretarial/clerical tasks and related office functions to provide support for the principal, school staff and students.
Required Qualifications: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
Possess a Grade 12 education
Certificate in secretarial training at an institution or equivalent as recognized by the Board is an asset
Experience as Secretary/Office Manager within a school is an asset
Superior knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation
Knowledge in basic accounting practices
Knowledge in the operation of equipment, such as photocopier, fax, telephone, and computer
Knowledge of methods and procedures used in maintaining an office
Previous experience or knowledge working within parameters of the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is an assetDuties:
Perform receptionist duties by greeting visitors and parents, assisting with the intercom system, answering the telephone, ascertaining the nature of business, providing information or redirecting inquires as required
Help track and monitor student attendance
Perform various computer, word processing and typing responsibilities such as forms, school programs, correspondence, exams, student handbooks, school communication, newsletters, schedules and a variety of reports as directed
Operate computer-based programs for accounting, student and personnel information as required
Enter data and generate monthly and other reports in the student information, accounting and administrative systems as required by the Principal and Division Office personnel
Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division
Update and monitor the schools social media accounts
Hold in confidence, safeguard and protect all confidential information against disclosureBenefits:

Pay range: $19.25 to $25.73 per hour
