The Opportunity: For the 2024-25 academic year, we are looking for an Associate Teacher for our Junior School on a contract until June 2025. The Associate Teacher will be responsible for assisting the teachers with the overall routines, supervision, co-curriculars, planning and implementing the Junior School program activities and will be required to provide supervisory and classroom support as assigned in the Junior School. This role will support specific classes while also acting as a supply teacher when required. The Associate Teacher may also provide support to and attend school events such as Curriculum Nights, Parent-Teacher interviews and other curriculum-related events that may take place after school hours. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: With an SEL lens, contribute to a classroom environment that inspires and supports learning and personal growth; Establish supportive rapport with students; Support the classroom teacher in motivating students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong foundation for further education in accordance with each student's ability; Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other colleagues; Adept at supporting the delivery of the educational program electronically and able to use electronic communication effectively; Participate actively in faculty, department and division meetings and contribute to team planning, as required; Participate in co-curricular activities, and may assume responsibility for activities as required; Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution; Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/ Junior qualifications; Prior classroom experience, with experience in French an asset Experience in and knowledge of IB is an asset; A proven ability to have a caring rapport with students. Knowledge of relevant technology and ability to work in a laptop environment with required devices and applications; Possess strong oral and written communication skills; Work independently with little direct supervision; Accept responsibility and is self-motivated; Demonstrate strong work ethic; A positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour; Alignment with Branksome Halls mission, vision and values; Why Join Branksome Hall?
