This is a Temporary Contract position.

This position is effective January 30, 2025, and will continue until June 27, 2025.

While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.

The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3. Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate, membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teachers Qualification Card.

Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major or minor in the subject area(s).

Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources

Previous successful experience teaching the subject required

Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills

Have knowledge and/or experience in the areas of outcomes-based instruction, assessment for learning, differentiated instruction and inclusive education

Be proficient with technology and 21stcentury learning

Demonstrate current understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment practices
