The ideal candidate would possess the following background, philosophy, and experience:Possess a Bachelor of Education.(Bachelor of Music an asset)Have a strong music backgroundHave demonstrated leadership in Music in a school setting Have experience classroom teaching in an ECDP- Grade 6 school.Be willing and able to assume a classroom teaching assignment along with that of being a music teacher. Have a strong knowledge of the music curriculum ECDP- Grade 6.Demonstrate a philosophy of the importance of promoting the love of music.Have an ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans.Have demonstrated ability creating a classroom characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction.Possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills.Have demonstrated support the District's Big 3: Healthy and active schools, environmental stewardship and academic excellence.Have proven themselves to be a team player and a positive staff member.Have Training in The Leader in Me (TLIM) OR be willing to participate in training provided and fully implement and support TLIM at Christina Gordon.Exhibit a strong work ethic and be willing to put in the effort required in the opening of a new school.Be flexible and willing to adapt to the inevitable challenges that will come with the opening of a new school.Be open to new programs and initiatives.Be a reflective practitioner.Recognize the importance of making a strong positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom.
