Flin Flon School Division is accepting applications for the following position:

MENTAL WELLNESS SUPPORT

Full Time Term January 6, 2025 to March 27, 2026

The successful applicant will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary Learning Support Services team to provide a full range of social work services in the divisions schools.

The ideal candidate would possess:

Registered Social Worker (RSW) designation and/or relatable counselling experience.

A Manitoba School Clinician Certificate in Social Work, or eligibility for school clinician certification in the Province of Manitoba.

A Bachelor of Social Work degree with experience working within a school environment.

Experience with mental health programming/addictions/trauma-based counselling.

Strong collaborative/consultative and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a school/community support team.

Demonstrated confidence in managing risk assessments of referred students/families.

Knowledge of Child and Adolescent Development and an interest in working with Children and Adolescents.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

A Masters Degree in Social Work.

The ability to provide individual, group and family counseling, as well as crisis intervention.

Expertise in supporting school personnel in dealing with challenging students (behaviour, emotional, social and family issues).

Experience with liaising with home/school/community agencies in order to enhance coordination of services to students and their families.

Salary and benefits commensurate with the Provincial CBA and related to qualifications and experience.

Must have a valid Manitoba Class V drivers license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to use it to travel within the community.
