-an extensive array of program options, including Aboriginal Education, Late French Immersion, Outdoor Programs, and a strong International Program.The annual pay range for a full time teacher is $63,367 to $111,488, with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) has a vacancy for a 0.2 FTE Term Kindergarten Teacher at Blewett Elementary School in Nelson B.C.The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience working in a multi-graded setting, will be able to work closely with teachers, and will be knowledgeable and able to work appropriately with students who may have diverse learning and behavior needs.The awarded applicant will be innovative, creative, and demonstrate understanding of B.Cs redesigned curriculum, School District 8s Student Expectations and Strategic Plan. They will be a person who is continually striving to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment. Qualifications

Bachelor of Education (Elementary) with elementary classroom or practicum experience.

A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.Teachers applying for this position will ideally possess the following attributes:

Willingness to work closely with students, parents, colleagues, and the community

Excellent classroom management skills

a general knowledge of the Circle of Courage as a model of positive child development and as a trauma informed approach to working with vulnerable kids.

Demonstrate confidence in team teaching with a design focus in mind

Have experience with Maker Space/Applied Design and a variety of tech tools (e.g. Mbots, Little Bits, Bloxels etc.)

Experience with adaptive technology to support students (e.g. Google Read and Write, Speech to Text on Ipads)

Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills, including strengths in listening to and observing students

Good organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible
