Job Summary & Responsibilities

The School Psychologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Support Services Department and with school personnel. The successful candidate will also: Provide ongoing collaborative consultation and planning for students and classrooms through school-based team meetings and care team meetings

Provide individualized psychoeducational assessments (based on student need) for students referred through the school-based team.

Provide professional learning opportunities for educators and support staff

Assist with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudication

Education & Experience Masters Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent

Possess or eligible for membership in the BC Association of School Psychologists and/or the College of Psychologists BC

Training and supervision in the assessment of Learning Disabilities

Teaching certification with B.C. Teacher Regulation Branch is considered an asset Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated understanding of B.C. Ministry of Education designation categories and guidelines

Demonstrated knowledge of elementary, middle, and secondary context preferred

Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to complete multiple assessment reports by pre-determined deadlines

Demonstrated ability to work with school-based and integrated teams in a consulting role

Skilled in written and oral interpersonal communications

Knowledge of Competency Based IEPs is an assetThe starting annual salary for this full-time Associated Professional position ranges from $70,214 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. School Psychologists receive a monthly allowance of $433.83. Teaching Competencies
