Full-time continuing position

MEI Secondary is searching for a certified teacher as a successor to our current Athletic Director (AD) as he retires. The succession plan involves the current MEI Secondary Athletics Director training and supporting the incoming AD over a two-year period.This continuing position will begin August 28, 2024Year 1 (2024/25) ScopeThe current AD continues in the AD position, both in authority and responsibilities, with a gradual passing of the leadership baton. Mentorship will focus on helping the incoming AD to get up to speed on all that is involved in the role. The incoming AD will be given time for bi-weekly meetings to review current practices plus be given increased responsibility for oversight over athletics as the year progresses. The AD job description will be used as a guide to provide clarity around the role and responsibilities. Current AD remains as Sport Council Chair.

Year 2 (2025/26) Scope

The incoming AD becomes the AD, both in authority and responsibilities, with the outgoing AD providing support and further clarification as new situations arise. Outgoing AD remains as Sport Council Chair with new AD beginning to assume increased Sport Council duties as the year progresses.

FTE designated for the Athletic Director will be combined with other teaching blocks to fill out the full-time teaching position. The education and experience of the successful applicant will be considered for the remaining portions of the teaching load.A job description and specific FTE for the Athletic Director can be provided to interested applicants upon request.
