The Vice Principal engages with students and families, provide instructional and administrative leadership, and manages initiatives in support of the school plan. This is an excellent leadership opportunity to contribute to our vision of equitable and inclusive middle schools, a dedicated exploration of joyful student inquiry, and the promotion of student-centered discourse around connection, identity and belonging.

We are seeking an exemplary educator who understands and appreciates the physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development of middle school students and has a clear personal commitment to meaningful learning experiences, equitable opportunities, and culturally safe environments. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with students, families, and staff based on effective and supportive instructional leadership practice.

Qualifications A Masters degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum, or related discipline (or in progress)

A member in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch

Successful teaching and leadership experience, preferably at the middle school level

Demonstrated leadership in curriculum, instruction, and assessment

Understanding of middle school philosophy and best practices

Strong understanding of the unique needs of young adolescents and the critical role of middle grades

Demonstrated integration of the First Peoples Principles of Learning and commitment to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission

Success working with at-risk students and reluctant learners

Knowledge of BCs Policy for Student Success

Demonstration of district leadership competencies with particular attention to courage and integrity, relationships, learning and innovation, community and culture, and learning leadership.
