French Occasional Teachers

We are excited to offer a one time grant of $1000 to support 2 candidates through the FSLM program at Queen's University We are currently accepting applications from individuals who have a proficiency in French and are interested in becoming a qualified teacher for this grant.

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 39 in-person schools (32 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). REQUIREMENTS: Must be proficient in the French language, and accepted into the Queen's FSLM program before grant can be issued.

An offer of employment will be made for a spot on our Elementary Occasional teachers list contingent upon obtaining an Ontario College of Teachers certificate- must be able to commit to maintaining a spot on this list.

Candidates will be selected for this grant through a formal interview process. Please briefly describe your proficiency in the French language in your cover letter and attach one of the following; A French Bilingual/Immersion/Extended Certificate and original transcript from an anglophone secondary school or an original transcript if you have graduated from a francophone secondary school, OR

Diplme approfondi de langue franaise (DALF) You will need to achieve an overall classification of C1 (Advanced 1). Test results are valid for life, OR,

Diplme dtudes en langue franaise (DELF) You will need to achieve an overall classification of B1 (Intermediate 1). Test results are valid for life, OR,

Test de connaissance du franais (TCF) You will need to obtain a score of C1 (Advanced 1 in all four modalities: reading, listening, writing and speaking). Test results are valid for two years, OR
