Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

S2425-01 Learning Consultant

We are seeking two full-time (1.0 FTE) positions to commence at the start of the 2024-2025 school year for a three year term to coincide with the NLPS Three Year Education Plan and related improvement priorities. The successful candidates will report to the assigned Director(s) of Learning and may work closely with Associate Superintendents as required. The successful candidatess will provide support to teachers in areas of instruction, curriculum, assessment, beginning teacher support, and programming. Additionally, the successful candidates will complete other duties as assigned in order to support the Division's mission of helping every student learn and excel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will include the following, and may be adjusted to reflect the needs of the division and the skills or experience of the successful candidates:

Focus on the divisions K-6 numeracy and literacy priority;

New curriculum implementation and support for staff;

Provide support related to assessment practices;

Analyze student achievement data and plan subsequent support strategies;

Assist with beginning teacher induction program and supports;

Support the use of technology to enhance instruction;

Support differentiation and intervention strategies for students;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The successful candidates will have the following qualifications and attributes:

Possess or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate;

Successful experience as a classroom teacher;

Strong understanding of pedagogy, curriculum and assessment strategies;

Ability to be flexible, adapt to change and respond to employees in a positive and friendly manner;

Skilled at coaching and supporting teachers;

Excellent organizational and planning skills;

Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Ability to create meaningful, systemic and sustainable change;

Ability to recognize sensitive situations and potential solutions; and

Possess a valid Driver's License and the ability to travel.
