Trillium Lakelands District School Board invites applications for a
PERMANENT FULL-TIME TRANSPORTATION CLERK
at the
MUSKOKA EDUCATION CENTRE, in Bracebridge This permanent full-time (12 month) position is effective immediately. This position will be responsible for providing clerical assistance to Transportation Services and reports to the Transportation Supervisor.
Duties of the position include:
Operate a computerized transportation routing software on a daily basis.
Assist with transportation activities relevant to mapping of bus routes and reporting.
Assemble data from school data bases and other sources required for route planning, enter and update information including admits, retirements, transfers and all changes of information in the routing software and communication with operators and/or schools, as required.
Receive and investigate complaints, inquiries from parents, the public and schools regarding bus service, log the information and make an appropriate response.
Ensure all transportation assignments adhere to the Boards Transportation Policy and Procedures.
Gather information on route and/or bus stop checks, as required; report observations and recommendations to supervisor.
Receive, review and record school bus conduct and discipline forms to monitor student and driver issues.
Assist with compilation of passenger lists, maps, correspondence and instructions for operators and school start up.
Audit maps, maintain and update route manifests in order to ensure that route and database accuracy.
Assist with annual route reconciliation for operator payment.
Qualifications Required:
Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus additional training courses in computer operation and software programs;
Related clerical experience of over 1 year, preferably in a transportation environment.
Demonstrated computer knowledge and practical experience on multi-screen data base systems.
A good working knowledge of/and experience using Microsoft and Google products including email.
Training and/or experience in BusPlanner transportation routing software.
Organizational skills and detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize work and work to deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and work effectively with all internal and external contacts; experience in dealing with difficult people and high-pressure situations.
Experience dealing with confidential information and sensitive material.
Self motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Geographical knowledge of the Trillium Lakelands DSB area is an asset.
Hours of work:7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hourly Wage:$25.58 (min.) - $27.51 (max)
Point Band:7
