The Board invites applications for the following Secondary teaching position:

ACTING DEPARTMENT HEAD MODERN LANGUAGES

St. John's College 1.0 FTE Effective Date : Immediately

Salary Range : Base salary plus an allowance of 6.77% of the A4 maximum

Position Summary:

The Acting Department Head will be responsible to the school administration as a member of the school leadership team. It is the responsibility of the acting department head to provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of programs for their department. The Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations and Ministry guidelines are central to department curriculum design and management; therefore, the acting Department Head will need to be committed to individual and department accountability for student achievement in support of the Board and School Improvement Plans.

Qualifications:

Basic* : Intermediate and Senior Divisions French

Additional* : Honour Specialist French

Experience : Minimum of five (5) years teaching in the secondary panel

Other : An understanding of current system and school priorities in secondary education; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a leader are essential for this position

To facilitate appropriate delivery of programs;

To facilitate the compilation of Ministry and Board curriculum requirements;

To lead the department in professional development to support the school improvement plan;
