Administrator Menno Simons Christian School Vice Principal

The Palliser School Division invites highly motivated educators, who have demonstrated exceptional leadership to apply for the position of Vice-Principal at Menno Simons Christian School. The position will begin on August 26, 2024, or on a mutually agreed date. The successful candidate will be a pedagogical leader who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, a proven record of excellence in teaching, evidence of success in leading and encouraging professional learning and a willingness to be involved in the extracurricular activities of the school. Administrative duties will include an active role in instructional leadership and all aspects of school leadership.

Menno Simons Christian School

Menno is a K-9 Christian school serving approximately 230 students within the Anabaptist/Mennonite faith tradition that offers an alternative program in the public Palliser School division. Menno offers students an education for life, providing opportunities for students to integrate sound academic learning with growth in character, faith and service to God. The school is located in southwest Calgary and has a community committed to supporting student learning.

Job Requirements Masters Degree in Education or a related field (or in the process of obtaining one)

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Exemplary teaching and administrative experience

Strong leadership and management skills

Commitment to establishing positive working relationships with staff, parents, and community partners

Commitment to establishing partnerships and is knowledgeable about indigenous cultures, traditions and values

Experience in multi-grade level classrooms

Willingness to explore innovative approaches to learning

Student-focused leader, dedicated to excellence in student learning in an inclusive environment

Ability to provide effective leadership which fosters innovation, collaboration, respect and trust

Ability to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders to support student growth and development

Strong interpersonal skillsTo support the Faith-Based Vision of the school and the society, the Vice-Principal should also possess: A commitment to Christian education and the ability to challenge staff and students to Christian learning and living;

An understanding of the Anabaptist Mennonite belief would be an asset;

An ability to lead in the establishment and maintenance of a wholesome, spiritual, emotional and professional atmosphere which characterizes the school as a Christian school;

An ability to provide leadership for the advancement of Christian education by articulating an educational vision to the school staff, to the Society, and to the general Christian community;

The ability to partner with the Society in upholding its Mission and Vision.Conditions of Employment
