About the Position :

The Chilliwack School District is seeking applications for the position of Business Manager, Learning Services. This position reports to the District Principal and oversees the general office operations of the Learning Services site. The Business Manger will align practices and resources with the management, organization and administration on a day-to-day basis including directly supervising support staff employees. This position requires promotion of positive public relations to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, equitable and product work environment. This position is pivotal in facilitating Learning Service's educational purposes and the efficient daily operations of the office.

Core Responsibilities Include: Act as Learning Services office manager, ensuring the operations of the office and promote a professional environment.

Supervision of clerical support staff in a unionized environment, including oversight and direction of varied financial and clerical work, verification of timesheets and evaluation of performance.

Oversight of budget development and control of Learning Services programs and resources (Early Learning and Childcare, Work Experience, Indigenous Education, Curriculum, Student Services)

Development of protocols around the usage, maintenance and fiscal management of Learning Services programs and resources (Early Learning and Childcare, Work Experience, Indigenous Education, Curriculum, Student Services)

Oversight of Early Learning and Childcare replacement staffing, registration, tracking and reporting, and project funding.

Manages third-party service providers and Learning Services use of District facilities, in liaison with the District Facilities department.

Attends community and district committee meetings as a representative of Learning Services.

Manage and oversee Learning Services external communications channels.

Oversight of invoicing and reconciliation of Ministry funding allocations for Learning Services programs.Salary Range: $65,901 to $82,377, commensurate with experience

A proficient leader with a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and accounting processes, coupled with demonstrated experience in office operations, staff supervision, and implementing fiscal protocols for educational programs and resources.

Qualifications : Training and experience in leadership and supervision of staff in a unionized environment.

Extensive training and experience in accounting and purchasing including demonstrated budgeting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), standard business software applications and basic visual design programs (such as Canva or InDesign).

Knowledge of current technological applications for school administration including ERP, school fee management software and childcare management software.

Demonstrated understanding of the BC Early Years Framework, the Ministry of Education and Childcare's vision, purposes and practices, and the Chilliwack School District's Strategic Plan, and childcare licensing regulation.

Experience in managing budgets and resources in the public sector, preferably K-12 education.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills in working with staff at all levels, students and community partners.

Ability to manage relationships with client families and stakeholders, demonstrating empathy, maturity, and patience.How to Apply ?
