Effective December 2, 2024 Reporting
to the District Principal of Inclusive Education, the District Behaviour
Consultant works in collaboration with other members of the District Learning
Support team to support students with significant
social, emotional and behavioural needs. The range of services will include: developing
stabilization and transition plans for students, providing short-term direct
service and support to students, providing consultation to school staff in
developing and implementing effective plans and interventions, and providing
training and in-service to school and district staff as appropriate. The
district behaviour consultant may provide specialized ABA services to schools
and assist in the development of planning for individual students with complex
needs. Qualifications,
Attributes and Job Requirements : Master's degree in Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification preferred.
Extensive knowledge, training and experience working with students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Proven behavioural management experience with children/youth with significant social, emotional and behaviour support needs
Demonstrated ability/experience working within a consultative model and as part of collaborative team
Proficiency in planning and delivering training and adult education
Competencies in the development, delivery and evaluation of training programs and strategies
Successful experience working collaboratively with community partners
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
Development and implementation of assessment tools to conduct functional behaviour assessments (FBA) and analyses when appropriate
Implement data collection systems to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for students, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
Develop behaviour plans for students as required with a focus on teaching and skill development.
Develop and authorize behaviour plans for students with complex needs when necessary.
Knowledge of the BC Educational System, Ministry of Child and Family Development, Children and Youth Mental Health Supports and other community supports
Valid BC drivers license and a vehicle for use on the job.

The school district will work with the successful candidate to determine a start date and to facilitate a smooth transition into the position. The expected annual salary range for this role is $95,506. To $119,382.
