Navigate/NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. Navigate teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues and parents.The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Ability to manage online courses, assignments, assessments and resources incorporating current pedagogical frameworks (i.e. project based, personalized Universal Design for Learning)
Ability to work with and provide support for students online and in person
Ability to utilize the following online tools: Brightspace (or equivalent online learning management system), MyEd, Seesaw, Mathletics, Learning A-Z, Zoom, TeamsNavigate (NIDES) is a distributed learning school that operates year round and has its own distinct operating calendar and procedures. While the school's headquarters is located at Tsolum Camus, staff work and support students at many schools and sites throughout the district and province. Education assistants and clerical staff support a wide variety of blendedand online learning programs including the Fine Arts eCademy K-8 (three days face-to-face) and the Compass Program K-12 (two days face-to face). Our instructional platform emphasizes non-traditional approaches to education including, but not limited to: curriculum integration, technology enhanced, experiential, and place-based/outdoor learning. To meet the needs of our diverse community of students and families, support staff must be flexible and adaptive to working with multiple instructional settings in any given week.
