SUMMARY:

Reports to the principal and works under the direction of his or her designate. Performs a variety of clerical services to ensure the timely resolution of the school office requirements. The duties assigned will vary for each position based on individual school needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Completion of post secondary secretarial or office procedures courses equivalent to 6 months.

Minimum of 1 year recent related clerical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using MS Word and Excel, database and e-mail applications.

Experience in the use of student attendance programs an asset. Ability to work independently.

Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information.

Ability to use a wide variety of office machinery/equipment. Basic accounting ability an asset.

Ability to handle a wide variety of clerical tasks, while handling frequent interruptions. Knowledge of basic first aid treatment.

Physical ability to perform the duties required.

Knowledge of WorkSafe BC and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.

Some positions may require the knowledge of language other than English; ability to speak Punjabi an asset.
