Principal - St. Anthony School

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools is seeking a visionary leader, willing to work as a valued member of the administrative team, to fill the position of Principal at St. Anthony School in Drayton Valley, Alberta effective the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

The ideal candidate will : Nurture a Christ-centred catholic community committed to the highest quality education for its students.

Model a lifestyle and deportment consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church, practicing faith through regular mass attendance and participation in ministries and the sacramental life of the Church.

Develop their faith and that of their staff so as to lead students and others closer to Christ.

Demonstrate commitment to strengthening the relationship between school, family and parish.

Build trust and foster positive working relationships within the school community on the basis of appropriate values and ethical foundations.

Involve the school community in creating and sustaining shared vision, mission, values, principles and goals.

Nurture and sustain a school culture that values and supports learning.

Ensure that each student has access to quality teaching and the opportunity to engage in quality learning experiences.

Promote the development and leadership capacity within the school community for the overall benefit of the school community and education system.

Manage school operations and resources to ensure a safe, caring, and effective learning environment.

Understand and appropriately respond to the political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts impacting the school.Preference will be given to applicants with a masters degree or who are working towards their masters degree.

Applications should include a resume, current pastoral reference, three employment-related references, current criminal record check (inclusive of vulnerable sector), current child welfare intervention check and a copy of Alberta Teaching/Leadership Certificate or equivalent.

The School

St. Anthony School is a Preschool to Grade Eight School, serving the community of Drayton Valley and the County of Brazeau. The school has grown to include 450 students from preschool to grade eight.
