Support, promote, and assist with on-site and off-site activities for students
Participate in planned physical sport or events/activities
Maintain knowledge of whereabouts of students under care
Escalate discipline issues as needed
QualificationsThe following are requirements for this position:
Must be 19 or older (due to licensing regulations)
Familiarity with child development and needs
Experience working with large groups of students
A cheerful disposition and a passion to engage students in their development and growth
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Ability to manage emergent situations and take decisive action
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and positive results
Adaptability to changing situations
Understanding of appropriate boundaries
Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following skills and qualifications:
Experience working with children
Emergency First Aid/Childcare Emergency First Aid or higher
Class 4 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract is an asset
Working Conditions
3:00 to 5:00 pm when school is in session (i.e., not Christmas Break, Spring Break, or planned Pro-D days)
