Qualifications:

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools requires a full time Speech

Language Pathologist. This job involves

providing speech and language services to grades EEP - 6 students within an

inclusive educational environment.

The primary responsibilities will focus on addressing and

identifying speech and language needs, using assessment tools, which have been

impacting the students performance in an early learning setting. Collaborating

and communicating with both the school team and multi-disciplinary team is

essential. Involvement in building

capacity with teachers, other educational staff, and through parents and family

is the primary responsibility within a school environment. Job Responsibilities and Activities

- Multi-disciplinary team participation and individual program development (IPP/ISP)

- Administrate, score, and interpret standardized speech and language assessments

- Conduct

speech and language therapy within the context of typical classroom activities

- Direct

and assist students in performing daily classroom routines

- Participate

in Individual Program Planning (IPP) Collaborate to develop and model broad

based strategies that focus on integration of Speech and Language development

within the daily functioning of classroom/school environments

- Professional

Development focused on supporting staff development and increasing knowledge

for Division

- Model

inclusive, broad based strategies for Teachers, Facilitators, Parents and EAs

in the classroom.

- Monitor

childrens progress and advise on strategies for assessing students

achievement of curricular outcomes in grades 1-6

- Assist

and provide support to the team in the identification of children who qualify

for Program Unit Funding

- Develop/extend

partnerships with the Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the Community and connect

SLP programming and resources

The successful applicant must hold

a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology and be registered with

ACSLPA. Two or more years of experience

would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
