School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) is searching for a continuing, full-time (1.0 FTE) Principal at Eileen Madson Primary School . This educational leadership role is effective August 1, 2024.

Eileen Madson Primary School (EMP) is situated on unceded and crossover lands of the Secwpemc and Ktunaxa People, located in Invermere, British Columbia. EMP is a school of two dozen staff serving approximately 210 students from Kindergarten through Grade 3. It is with a great sense of gratitude that we are able to live and work in this beautiful place. Living and working in the area offers exceptional recreation and leisure opportunities for all seasons coupled with other amenities that are supported by tourism in the valley. We take full advantage of the outdoor learning opportunities in our backyard. We also place a high value on collaboration, and progressive teaching practices.

We invite applications from candidates with effective teaching and leadership experience in a primary school, familiarity with the First Peoples Principles of Learning, the BC Curriculum and Learning Pathways as well as the Early Learning Framework. We are looking for a leader who is service oriented, who follows a student-centered philosophy, and who has a strong commitment to professional growth. A masters degree in administration, leadership, curriculum or other related area is expected to be completed or in progress. The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for a BC Teachers Certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch.
