We invite applications for the position of:Maintenance Worker - Trades The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the Director of Operations or designate by assisting trades in preventative and routine maintenance on School District buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds. This role will be performing general maintenance and labour duties using a variety of power tools and hand tools. Other duties such as maintaining inventories, delivering equipment and supplies and providing snow removal and ice control at district sties on a seasonal basis will be performed within this role. This position may be required to start work at various locations.Successful applicants will have: Completed Grade 12;

Certification as a Fire Extinguisher Service Technician with ASTTBC;

One (1) year experience in maintenance work including: Knowledge and experience of power tools and hand tools;

Knowledge and experience in operation of small powered equipment;

Knowledge and experience in labour helping trades people;

Knowledge and experience in current B.C. construction/maintenance safety requirements and WSCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry; Valid Class 5 (or 7) B.C. Driver's License.

Applicants will be expected to: Establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers, district staff, and the public;

Have excellent communication skills;

Have a working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook;

Be a self-starter and able to work alone with minimum supervision and within a team environment;

Possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position;

Maintain a current forklift certification;

Complete the required District's Health & Safety training.
