Job DescriptionKleos is seeking an Indigenous Education Advocate that is interested in working to enhance school experiences of Indigenous youth enrolled with Kleos. In addition, the role would include consulting on the meaningful integration of First Peoples Principles of Learning, of Indigenous culture and history, and of Indigenous ways of knowing and being in all curriculum areas by providing support to teachers. Enhance Experiences of Indigenous Youth and Families enrolled at Kleos Build community through regular and synchronous virtual connections
Host weekly Zoom meeting with Indigenous students
Participate in IEP process as Team Member
Host Parent Open House - Talk Time to build community (monthly Zoom meeting)
Support students to get connected to services and knowledge keepers in their areas
Promote and Facilitate Authentic and Meaningful Curriculum Connections to Indigenous Culture School-Wide Review teacher lessons and curriculum
Provide resources and lesson recommendations to teachers
Host and source authentic and meaningful cultural learning opportunities for all student Deliver a lesson to a class
Invite a knowledge keeper to present to a class
Prepare a pre-recorded video to share with a class
Facilitate a school wide learning experience 3 hours per week: 1 Hour: Teacher Support
1 Hour: Student Zooms
