Over the past 20 years, Aberdeen Hall has become a top-level independent school that provides excellent academics and a strong character education to our diverse student population of 700 preschool to grade 12 children.Aberdeen Hall has a 13-month contract opportunity available in our High School Learning Strategies Department from February 2025 to March 2026, please note that this position has the potential for an extension beyond the 13 months. The High School Learning Strategies Coordinator works collaboratively to provide a variety of support for students, teachers, and parents. Under the direction of the Division Principal, and overseeing members of the High School Learning Strategies Department, this individual will ensure that all stakeholders have a good understanding of how best to guide students towards meeting their learning goals. The High School Learning Strategies Coordinator will provide leadership in the Learning Resource vision of the School, and on ways to support the diverse behavioral, emotional, and academic needs of students.

B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or equivalent
Knowledge of BC Special Education policies and guidelines, along with Special Education qualifications, are an asset.
Experience in an Independent School (asset)
Ability to contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of an IEP in consultation with teachers, parents, students, and community resource personnel.
Understanding how to support diverse learning styles at a grade school level.
Demonstrated experience as an enthusiastic, innovative, and caring educator, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all its many dimensions.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with the BC Curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
Experience in co-planning with teachers to ensure students needs are addressed and appropriate accommodations are applied effectively.
Computer Skills: Google Classroom, docs, sheets, slides and Gmail
Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders
Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contributing to a positive working atmosphere across the School community
