Reporting to the Principal, the Noon Hour Supervisor supervises students, both indoors and out, to ensure the safety and well-being of the students. Once hired, a casual employee can view all internal postings for Term and Continuing positions and has the contractual right to post into vacancies to secure more consistent and/or guaranteed hours.

POSTING DETAILS Position - Noon Hour Supervisor

Start Date - As soon as possible (flexible)

Schedule - Casual / On Call (hours vary)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures that students are safe and are following school rules.

Supervises students inside and outside the school during lunch period.

Approaches strangers on or around the playground to ascertain who they are.

Assists in solving minor student conflicts (physical/verbal).

Reports any incident of a major consequence to the Principal.

Administers minor first aid and ensures appropriate medical attention is received, as required.

Reports to Principal, unsafe or broken playground equipment.

Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Completion of Grade 10 (minimum).

First Aid Certificate (1 day Emergency First Aid with CPR or equivalent).

Ability to interact with students in an effective manner.

Ability to communicate effectively using tact and discretion in the explanation and clarification of information.

Ability to use judgement in applying established methods and procedures.
