Community Schools Coordinator Project Resiliency Elementary (DEIT) Full-Time, Continuing (Exempt) Do you want to make a difference in the lives of students? School District No. 35 (Langley) is looking for a talented Community Coordinator to help lead that team to work collaboratively to maintain a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff in supporting the mandate of Project Resiliency.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Principal of Project Resiliency Elementary (DEIT), the Community to School Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising school and community programs supporting the Project Resiliency Elementary (DEIT) program. This role will work closely with the Director of Student Support Services, Principal and the Clinician Lead to ensure the Districts programming follows all Ministry legislation. The Community to School Coordinator will be responsible for the District's intervention programming, supervision of facilitators, and will liaise with community partner groups to ensure the optimal running of Project Resiliency interventions and programming. Key responsibilities include: Supervise the daily operations of Project Resiliency Elementary (DEIT) programming throughout the District.

Coordinates the relevant Districts Every Child Matters mandate, ensuring adherence to all Ministry legislation, contracts, grants and stakeholder partnerships.

Stay up-to-date with services, facilities, and community resources to best support students, staff and families.

Supervise, schedule, support and collaborate with Project Resiliency and Project Black Feather staff.

Work with community stakeholders and district staff to develop and provide programming and support for identified youth and their caregivers.

Work with District staff to manage registrations, payment, and student records for all relevant programming and interventions.

Facilitate and develop Project Resiliency Elementary (DEIT) programs as needed including but not limited to Connect Parent, Game Ready, and before and after (including weekend) programs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes: Degree in a child or youth care related field or equivalent training and programming experience.

Minimum five years experience in development, management, and support of Project Resiliency related programming.

Experience leading projects, teams, or individuals on related initiatives, committees, or procedures.

Experience with completion of child and youth programming and services enrollment, in alignment with Ministry Children and Family Development, Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Fraser Valley Aboriginal Children and Family Services Society and other key community partners and agencies.

Possess qualifications, experience and knowledge of community services and programming.

Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Possess strong computer skills, primarily with the full Microsoft Office 365 suite.

Ability to assess resources and needs of Project Resiliency.

Ability to work independently and take initiative in the development of new programs and opportunities.

Participate in and facilitate ongoing professional learning for themselves and others.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both site and district staff, families, community partners, agencies, businesses, and service professionals.

Knowledge and understanding of District Guiding Documents including the Strategic Plan, Student Support Services goals.

Understanding of the First Peoples Principles of Learning and how to embed them in programming.

Possession of a valid Drivers License and reliable vehicle, as travel to different sites within the District will be necessary.
