HEALTH-PROMOTING SCHOOLS COORDINATOR

1.0 FTE Temporary full-time Health Promoting Schools Coordinator / District Food Coordinator position and Physical Literacy teacher, beginning September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An understanding of and experience with the Health Promoting School Pillars/Principles

Experience in health-promoting initiatives at the school or district level

Experience in the area of social-emotional learning and professional development.

Experience with collaborating and communicating effectively with community /regional/provincial agencies which provide services to youth of the community.

Training and experience working with a wide range of grade-level students.

Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes for student needs.

Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with BC Curriculum and the Guidelines for Food & Beverage Sales in BC Schools. Teaching category five or higher.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs.

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.

Ability to lead, plan and implement programs.

Experience providing professional learning opportunities to schools, district and communities.

Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

The starting annual salary for this full-time teacher position ranges from $58,340 - $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
