District Administrative Support III - Payroll - TERM

The Opportunity:

Position: District Administrative Support III

Department: Payroll

Internal/External: Internal

Employment Type: Term - Effective until April 25, 2025Union: CUPE 2745

Hours: Up to 36.25 hours per week (Shifts available Monday to Friday)

Reports to: Assistant Director Payroll & Human Resources

Location: Office of the Superintendent

Summary of Accountabilities: Work in a school district office performing some independent tasks and is supervised for progress and results

Ability to perform procedural work routines through the application of different yet standardized methods is required

There is some scope for decision-making in accordance with established procedures

Duties include:

Prepare, input, process, audit and reconcile the district payroll

Calculate revisions, anniversary increases, promotions, transfers, adjustments, leaves and relevant deductions

Maintain the payroll section of the ASD-E portal

Calculate and process allowances, premiums, residual amounts, increases and leave adjustments

Process pay changes as required

Prepare and process payroll journal entries and manual cheque requisitions

Interact with other sectors and departments regarding payroll/finance items

Maintain databases, spreadsheets and files

Research and compile statistical data for reports

Assisting senior clerks with the preparation of accounts payable, accounts receivable

Create correspondence as required

Respond to inquires

Operate a full range of office equipment and perform general clerical duties

Other duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the district office

The district office reserves the right to re-assign all or part of this position to another department within the Office of the Superintendent should organizational requirements changeQualifications: High school supplemented by relevant vocational training, familiarity with computer programs & 3 years experience in a related field

A combination of education and experience may be considered
