Description:

Our team is looking for a strong leader to help our team grow and develop.

The successful candidate will be responsible to assist our Human Resources team to develop, implement, communicate and manage HR related tasks and programs for all staff within the school district. You will perform a wide variety of duties using independent judgment, initiative, and leadership. The Assistant Director, Human Resources directly supports the work of the Director, Human Resources

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Assistant Director is responsible for leading our HR Team that includes Human Resources Officers and our District Administrative Assistants (team of 11 professionals).

Interpreting / administering policies, guidelines, laws, regulations, and district goals and objectives as they apply to human resources. Additionally, the successful candidate would assist in developing policies, procedures, goals and objectives for the HR department and District as a whole.

Responsible for labour relations within the district, including participation in meetings and the interpretation and administration of the collective agreements for all employee groups

Assisting with and/or investigating various types of complaints

Apply the techniques of strategic and human resource planning to develop and implement operational plans

Oversee all HR related programs within the organization, including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, employee relations, retention, absence management, wellness and labour management.Qualifications : A university degree in business administration, public administration or related field, with a major in human resources. Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity in a complex human resource setting

The incumbent must have excellent interpretation, analytical, and inter-personal / communication skills, and be able to work independently, accurately, and in a confidential manner.
