The Xaxtsa Community School has 20 students from K5 to Grade 6 with 2 teaching staff, one Educational Assistant, a Cultural/Language Teacher, custodian and receptionist. We are expanding our school in September to Grade 12 and will have 11 students from Grade 7 to 12.
The successful candidate will have: Bachelor of Education Degree and preferred Masters Degree in Education
BC Teachers Certificate (or working towards membership)
A minimum of 3 years teaching high school
Experience in senior leadership in a school setting
Adventurous, versatile and a nature lover
Able to adjust to living in a small isolated community with no cell phone service and ability to travel on a Forest Service Road to do shopping etc.
Sensitive to First Nations culture, and educational issues
Energetic, innovative and willing to contribute to a team effort.
