We offer dual language kindergarten, Early French Immersion, for students in grades 1-8 and English Regular program with Core French for grade 7&8 students. We also are proud of our three K - 8 specialized program classes for students with autism. . *The position includes teaching grade 7 & 8 students in the Early French Immersion program (in English) as well as students in the Regular English with Core French program. This position includes being the homeroom teacher for a grade 8 EFI class. *Summerside is a newer K- 8 school (8 years old) in a newer part of the Avalon subdivision in Orleans, primarily an Early French Immersion school. Our staff work together closely as a team to provide a rich curricular and extra-curricular program for our students, particularly at the Intermediate level which is the biggest division at the school. At Summerside we focus on Restorative Practices as well as on student voice and citizenship. We also work hard to embed culturally responsive and relevant pedagogy and recognize and celebrate students' lived experiences. We have three specialized program classes at Summerside and are glad to work towards integration of our students with special needs.
