We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team:

Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of People, Culture & LeadershipWork Location: In-Person, OCDSB Administration Building, 133 Greenbank Road, Nepean

Nature of Position: Full-time Six (6) Month Term Assignment, 35 hours per week

Salary range: $61,500 to $72,400 per annum (Union Exempt, Level 4)The Administrative Assistant provides confidential and professional administrative support to a member of the districts senior management, which includes Superintendents, Executive Officer, Associate Director and the Office of the Director of Education.

The Assistant undertakes a broad range of administrative activities to ensure the effective day to

day operations of the office, including coordinating work flow, providing updates on all current

and emerging issues of importance; maintaining schedules and calendaring system; gathering

data from various sources, preparing correspondence, reports and agendas; coordinating

meetings and taking minutes; communicating with a variety of contacts, both internal and

external on a daily basis; and performs other administrative functions. Qualifications

Community college diploma in Executive Office Administration, and 5 to 6 years related experience in progressively responsible administrative positions. (An equivalent combination of experience and education may also be considered).

Familiarity with the school districts organizational structure, programs, policies and procedures.

Confident and creative problem solver, able to triage and redirect requests as appropriate, and provide solutions.

Demonstrated initiative for problem solving and ability to work independently and accurately with minimum supervision;

Client service oriented professional, who works effectively both alone and as part of a team.

Demonstrates advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with diverse internal and external audiences.

Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence, memos and reports.

Tact, diplomacy and discretion in handling delicate and highly confidential matters.

Advanced proficiency in software applications, including Google and MS Office applications.

Excellent listening skills, and demonstrates empathy, judgment, initiative, responsibility and common sense.

Highly organized and ensures timely completion of multiple tasks and priorities.

Working knowledge of the Education Act, various regulations, collective agreements, and of the Ontario public education system, school operations or experience in a large publicly funded organization, would be an asset. Application Process
