All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the schools priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.Main Responsibilities: The purpose of the Casual Secretary is to provide, assign and monitor secretarial/clerical support and services to the school. Performs clerical duties either electronically or on paper for the school, including records management, updating manuals, filing, maintaining administrative confidential files and preparing correspondence, reports, minutes, agendas, calendars, newsletters and various other documents;

Completes and verifies absence reports, time sheets, other HR related documents electronically and on paper;

Creates and maintains student information, registration and Ontario Student Record files including O.S.O.R. cards and responding to requests for information or transfer of records;

Maintains, reconciles and reports on petty cash, school bank account and school budget records;

Prepares and tracks requisitions (purchase and warehouse); receives, verifies and ensures delivery of purchased items, stocks and monitors office supplies and equipment requisitioning and repairs of equipment, with some minor troubleshooting; packaging and arranging shipment of outgoing materials. Maintains inventory records of school furnishings and equipment;

Provides reception services for school receiving calls and/or visitors, contacting parent(s)/ guardian(s) as required, meeting needs of students coming into the office, delivering messages/information to persons in the school and processing incoming and outgoing mail;

Records and stores medication for students, maintains and updates student health information.

Assists with arranging transportation of students including arranging daily pickup and drop offs for off-site events/trips and all required paperwork and reporting

Prepares report card data base creates teacher take home disks, importing student data and printing report cards

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the School Principal.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent;

At least one (1) year of recent, related work experience

Recruitment Process :

Successful applicants will be invited to participate in our assessment. Sessions for assessment will be held on October 21, 28, and November 12.

Applicants who receive an advanced score on the assessment will be offered an opportunity to interview. Interviews will be taking place in person on November 19 & 20, as well as 26 & 27. Those who are successful in the interview will have a start date of January 13, 2024.

The mandatory training dates for this position are taking place on January 13 & 20. This onboarding is a requirement for the position and is not offered on a regular basis.
