The HR Manager is responsible for planning, organizing,directing, controlling and analyzing the operations of the Human Resources function of the Portage la Prairie School Division. Key areas of responsibility include HR policy and procedure development and recommendations; human resource planning in conjunction with the Superintendent/Secretary-Treasurer; labour relations; training and development; recruitment and selection; and the analysis and improvement of Human Resource functions. In addition to remaining current with all applicable laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce established Portage la Prairie School Division policies and procedures. This role further requires the individual to promote and maintain positive relationships between Portage la Prairie School Division and its employees. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

* Proficiency in the use of computer programs for: Word processing; Datab

and electronic communication software

* Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in human resource management

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent ability to organize and coordinate

* Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize

* Excellent team work skills

* Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
