Must have communications skills such as: verbal and nonverbal, active listening, and empathy.
To follow the provincial Ministry of Education curricula and focuses on holistic child development including the social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent.
Must be eligible for or posses a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community would be an asset.
First Aid Certification would be an asset (we pay provide training upon hire).
Related training or experience in the field of education would be a definite asset.
Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the context of the Denesuline culture and language.
Offer children the opportunity to interact with peers and learn social skills, learn school routines, and build a strong foundation for further success in school.
Plan and organize materials ahead of time so when the children arrive, the room and the Educators are ready to engage with children.
Provide positive ways for family engagement for learning success and provide a welcoming space that draws parents into the classroom.
Assess and document student learning daily.
Cleaning protocols such as: all centre and tabletop materials that are reusable are to be cleaned following the covid protocols.
Must have strong understanding of the following programs and assessments: Effective Practices, Policies and Guidelines; Saskatchewan Curriculum.
Actively engage with families, children, and community members to understand their backgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.
Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents and community.
