Chaoyin International School is seeking Teachers On Call

for the 2022-2023 school year.This presents an exciting opportunity for teachers interested in international education. Our primary focus is to best prepare students for their journey towards university. We believe that journey begins early and by laying a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and language skills, especially English and Mandarin, CIS students have a KEY advantage over others.

Our program is rigorous, robust and students are challenged each day to be the best they can be.

Two significant programs that sets us apart from others is our Mandarin Language and STEM Programs. Students receive daily instruction in Mandarin Language Arts. Children will learn Mandarin from Kindergarten (with no experience necessary), and are be expected fluent by Grade 7. Students receive STEM focused curriculum developing their critical-thinking and creativity skills.

The school is located in the central business area of Richmond at 10111 Bird Road, minutes away from Vancouver International Airport, Hwy 99, and the Knight street bridge.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education or post degree program in Education;

Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch;

Teachers applying for this position must possess some or all of the following skills: demonstrated successful teaching experience;

strong desire and commitment to building positive student relationships;

excellent interpersonal skills;

commitment to school goals;

a desire to work within a collaborative learning environment of students, teachers, and parents;

excellent classroom management skills, based on respect, relationships, and realistic expectations;

ability to create a sense of belonging for all students;

understanding of elementary school philosophy and development;

demonstrated successful teaching experience at the elementary school level;

familiarity with the renewed curriculum;

committed to engaging students in meaningful learning experiences and activities;

demonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methods (e.g. differentiated instruction, assessment for, of and as learning, backwards by design curriculum planning);
