Under the supervision of the Worksite Supervisor the Lead Custodian is responsible for overseeing the general cleanliness, safety and security of a school, office or building facility. The position is the lead worker level in the custodial series. The Lead Custodian when required may provide direction to the other Custodial staff. Lead Custodians work with limited supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 education or equivalent required. Experience in a similar role preferred. Good communication skills, ability to perform the duties of the position and a demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions is required. Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, materials and applications as well as knowledge of cleaning procedures as they related to public buildings is preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Email). First Aid certification an asset. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and push/pull 500 pounds with cart. Must be able to climb stairs & ladders. Must be able to operate scissor lift (training provided).
