INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

1.0 FTE Secondment

D ivision Office

The successful candidate will be a highly effective teacher who has a passion for lifelong learning and collaborating with peers. The candidate will demonstrate sound planning, instruction, assessment, and intervention practices and have a good sense of relevant learning technologies to help promote student-centred learning. The ability to quickly establish rapport and relationship with others is an important asset. The successful candidate is not required to be an expert in all areas of responsibilities, but a keen willingness to learn and serve our schools is a necessity. Aptitude for working with colleagues from Grades 4 and up will be an asset.

Reporting to the Associate Superintendent, Learner Services, the Instructional Coach possesses a coordinator allowance as per the collective agreement and will have these key responsibilities:

?Support classroom teachers with implementing Horizons Instructional Model, effective assessment practice and new curriculum.

?Support use of relevant technology tools to maximize instruction and assessment tasks at the teacher level.

?Consult with and support teachers in the work underway to create concept-based lessons/units and associated assessments.

?Provide school staff presentations to help school leaders implement school plans as needed.

?Participate as a member of the Learner Services team in meetings, professional learning and events.

This secondment position will commence Aug. 19, 2024 and may be renewed annually for a maximum of three years.
