We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and innovative School Learning Commons Support to join our team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with students, teachers, and staff to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes inquiry-based learning, digital literacy, and student engagement across all grade levels (K-12).
This position involves managing the learning commons space, supporting the integration of technology, and fostering a love of reading and lifelong learning in students.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration & Curriculum Support: Work with classroom teachers to integrate digital tools and resources into curriculum planning, supporting student-centered learning.
Literacy & Learning Advocacy: Promote literacy through various programs and initiatives, including book clubs, reading challenges, and author visits.
Technology Integration: Support the use of technology in instruction, providing professional development for staff and troubleshooting digital tools and devices (e.g., Chromebooks, iPads).
Resource Management: Curate, organize, and maintain a collection of digital and print resources that reflect diverse perspectives, enhance curriculum, and support student inquiry.
Space Management: Ensure the learning commons is an accessible, flexible space for collaborative learning, makerspace activities, and independent study.
Student Engagement: Encourage student use of the learning commons through innovative programming that supports critical thinking, creativity, and research skills.
Equity & Access: Promote equity by ensuring all students have access to resources and technologies that support their learning needs.
