Supply Teachers - Health & Physical Education

(*all applications are welcome, especially those with qualifications in Math, Science, and French)

As a dynamic, engaging and certified teacher with exceptional relationship building, communication and teaching skills, you have a passion for teaching boys. Coverage arrangements are made in advance when possible, however, supply teachers also need to be available for same-day assignments. Calls may be made at 6:15 a.m. and the supply teacher must be at the School by 8:00 a.m. In a workplace that is challenging, diverse, warm and fulfilling your contribution will be valued by the entire community.

Responsibilities will include: Advancing the curriculum through lesson plans left by the Health & Physical Education teacher

Effectively drawing on classroom management practices to establish a positive and engaging teaching and learning environment

Integrating the Schools mission throughout all curricular activities and assigned dutiesThe successful candidates will have: A Bachelors degree, B.Ed. and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; Intermediate/Senior qualification in Health and Physical Education

The ability to accept day-of requests for coverage is preferred

Experience with youth in fitness, sport and/or camping is an asset

Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence and boy-centric teaching philosophies

Superior and demonstrated relationship building, relational teaching skills, and commitment to the needs of all learners

Passion, creativity, and commitment to the role, team and School mission

Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to infuse an element of fun and energy

Growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to accept new perspectives

Compassion, and a desire to cultivate courage and nurture connection
