CRITERIA FOR AN INTERVIEW: A degree from a recognized university in Engineering, Building Sciences Technology or Business

Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in managing cross-functional teams or large scale projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders along with experience in a highly consultative and unionized environment

Excellent business analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding environment

Ability to develop and implement business plans and ensure successful tactical implementation of these plans

Foster effective and accountable work relationships within a dynamic environment to meet overall objectives

Position requires tact and diplomacy in interaction with all stakeholders

Membership in the ABPMP (Association of Business Process Management International) or related designation would be an asset

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to and under the direction of the Superintendent of Environmental Support Services, the Senior Coordinator of Innovation and Service Delivery will be responsible for redefining the delivery of the Operations and Maintenance services, by ensuring that systems and processes are in place to meet service objectives and providing a safe and efficient environment for students and staff. The role will create efficiency, improve effectiveness, responsiveness, lead the integration of new technologies, initiate investment/training for staff, and establish benchmarking. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for performing complex management analysis, research, and project and/or program coordination, development, and implementation in support of the Environmental Support Services department within the Boards Strategic Plan

Oversee strategic planning, performance measurements, policy documentation, organizational development

Establish and benchmark performance and cost measures; review and analyze departmental budgets and strategic plans; participate in departmental reviews and work sessions/meetings as needed; respond to inquiries related to performance or efficiency needs, challenges, and/or opportunities

Conduct analytical activities related to performance or operational efficiencies, which includes: research and analysis of operational, fiscal, and other data for applicable processes; identify and implement process improvements that result in measurable increases in value or efficiency

Review overall Operations and Maintenance performance plan and reporting, which includes: timely and accurate submission of plans; preparation of key indicator reports for the Superintendent ESS

Develop metrics and indicators to evaluate performance and cost measures; review, update, and analyze measures for consistency and applicability

Develop and recommend policies, procedures, guidelines' and business processes for Operations and Maintenance Services

Perform special studies; provide guidance and recommendations to Superintendent ESS to ensure organizational sustainability and maximize organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and performance

Recommend cost-effective decisions and actions; providing the Superintendent ESS with accurate and timely information to support decision-making and policy direction

Identify strategic resources both internal and external to help others succeed; provide collaborative support to promote and encourage innovations or improvements, explore new ideas, or implement best practices; provide strategic support and technical assistance to the management staff within the Operations and Maintenance division

Oversee Central Support Operations portfolio which includes environmental and waste services, overall system security energy management

Develop, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Maintenance, Operations and Central Services areas including safety documentation, training material

Develop standard quality systems to further improve processes in all aspects of ESS division
