With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a full-time Senior Network/Security Analyst-Security Infrastructure/Enterprise Network within the Information & Communication Technology Infrastructure department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to the *Senior Manager Data Centre and Computing System Infrastructure, this position is responsible to provide technical leadership in researching, analysis, planning, designing, implementing, system management and system administration support of enterprise communications, network and security infrastructure devices and services. Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Work as the subject matter expert (SME) and perform an active role in understanding technology trends in network and security infrastructure frameworks, technologies and practices, advanced WiFi and networking, firewalls, VPN, security vulnerability assessment and penetration testing with strong communications and collaboration skills to support the organizational objectives

Work as Technical Lead to provision, implement and provide escalation tier 3 support on complex technical issues along with training, information sharing, and knowledge and skills transfer to enable tier 1 and tier 2 staff to successfully perform their job responsibilities

Proactively work to modernize and enhance the overall design of the enterprise network and security environment, explore emerging technology options and provide design leadership and oversight to ensure new introduced components interoperate and integrate effectively in the environment

Ensure proactive monitoring and maintain the enterprise communications, network and IT security environment and lead the analysis to document the root cause of service outages, problems and issues and recommend short-term remedial actions and long-term plan

Lead the evaluation, proof of concept and pilot of technologies and solutions to assess alignment with organizational functional requirements and create solutions to meet business and strategic objectives

Define and provide routine status reporting to IT Management on the reliability, availability and security of the enterprise communications, network and security environment

Provide technical inputs and recommendations for business cases, reports and RFPs/RFQs

Prepare and update architectural design documents, technical, end-user and systems documentation, provide in-services, conduct effective presentations, develop project plans and schedules for project implementation

Prepare thorough, clear technical and functional specifications, standards, policies, guidelines, processes and procedures, security measures and disaster recovery plans

Collaborate with technology peers, and manage work performed by external vendors and consultants to assure work quality and service level standards are met

Initiate, lead, plan and/or review and then present technical change requests to the designated change management authority

Take a proactive approach to learn and stay updated on current and emerging technology and industry trends

Perform other duties as assigned or required

Note* This position will require the incumbent to be available for on call work and must be flexible to work after hours including evenings and weekends.

REQUIREMENTS Post-secondary degree from a recognized university or college in an Information Technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Cisco CCNA, CCNP; Aruba ACMP and Palo Alto PCNSE certification or equivalent qualifications and hands-on experience an asset

Minimum four (4) years of experience with planning, designing, implementing and supporting communications, network and security infrastructure architectures and solutions in a complex, large scale, multi-location environment

Extensive experience, knowledge and skills architecting advanced wired and WiFi networking based on Cisco and Aruba/HPE technologies and/or security infrastructures based on Palo Alto solutions, administration of routers, switches, firewalls, and security devices, network and/or security management systems and related troubleshooting tools and utilities; implementing and managing load-balancing systems, vulnerability assessment, malware protection, URL filtering,DNS filtering, SSL inspection, encryption solutions, web security, DLP, Zero-Trust, CASB, sandbox, EDR, XDR, SIEM, SOAR, Microsoft Azure services and IT security best practices

Proven leadership ability and forward thinking to research current and upcoming technologies and plan, design, implement, system administration and support enterprise communications, network and/or security architectures and solutions

Advanced technical proficiency with excellent analytical, critical thinking, planning, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve enterprise communications, network and/or security infrastructure issues

Ability to be agile and manage multiple projects with accelerated timelines in a fast-paced high-demand environment

Ability to establish enterprise reference architectures and document related policies, standards, best practices, processes, procedures and guidelines

Independently lead technical infrastructure projects and coordinate efforts with other teams and external vendors to deliver on organizational initiatives

Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with cross-functional teams and functional units of the organization

Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and independent decision-making abilities

Proven excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to audiences with varying technology literacy

Valid Ontario drivers license and access to a vehicle is required for travel to Board and non-Board sites (eligibility for mileage reimbursement)

Ability to work outside of core office hours, as requiredThis is a non-union Level 8 position with a salary range of $90,042 - $107,322 along with comprehensive benefits including pension plan, vacation, and professional development opportunities.
