0.6 FTE District English Language Learning Teacher
Temporary: Immediately January 28, 2025
Qualifications: BC Certification
Bachelor of Education
Significant coursework and/or certification in teaching strategies for English language learners
Demonstrated experience teaching and ability to select appropriate materials and equipment for English language learners
Ability to model, through demonstration teaching, appropriate strategies and techniques for staff to use to assist ELL students in regular classrooms
Create annual instructional plans
Demonstrated experience and/or training in the assessment of English language proficiency levels for English language learners
Previous successful experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred
Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources, is essential
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies is essential
Demonstrated ability to integrate appropriate technologies into educational programs
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills
